Sri Lanka-China ‘In the Eyes of Photographers’

The fourth exhibition under the threme “Sri Lanka-China in the Eyes of Photographers” was held on July 20 and 21 in the Chinese city of Xining. The exhibition was declared open by Ji Wei, Deputy Director General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Mr. Cui Qingshan President of the Xining People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Wang Qing, Director of Cultural Exchange Department of CPAFFC and D.G. Dayaratna, a representative of the Sri Lanka China Society also participated in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition displayed 150 artistic photographs captured by photographers of the two countries. The photographs taken by Panduka de Silva and Ravindra Ranasinghe during their tour of selected Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanxi, Hangzhou and Shanghai, were displayed at the exhibition. Their Chinese counterparts Wang Lin and Wang Yi extensively covered locations in Sri Lanka.

This exhibition was co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Xining People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Sri Lanka-China Society.
