Around a hundred herbal plants with medicinal properties were planted by Maha Sangha at the Rangiri Dambulla Rajamaha Viharaya on Friday morning.

The Maha Sangha participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the Rangiri Dambulu Vihara

The occasion was said to coincide with the 58th birthday of the Custodian of the Rangiri Dambulu Raja Maha Vihara, the Sri Vishnu Devalaya and Matale Deputy Chief Sanganayaka of the Siyam Maha Nikaya’s Asgiriya Chapter the Ven. Ambagaswewe Rahula Thera.

The event was organized by student monks and the dayakas of the Rangiri Dambulla Viharaya.

Around 200 Monks from the area attended the event and planted over 100 medicinal plants at the temple’s Osu Uyana (herb garden).
