SL Air Force Ladies fire competitors out of contention

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) won Gold, while the Clay Target Shooting Sports Club (CTSSC) clinched Silver in the Open Men’s and Ladies’ Team Championship respectively at the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF) conducted Skeet Nationals 2018 held from May 18-20, at the CTSSC Range at Payagala.

Defending champ Sandakelum Ranasinghe failed this time

CTSSC’s Shankar Dharmaratne won Gold as Overall Winner in the Men’s competition, while SLAF’s Deepani Mudunkoth won Gold as Overall Winner in the Women’s category. CTSSC’s Shirantha Peiris won Gold as Overall Winner in the Masters’ competition.

Dharmaratne along with 10 Shooters featured in the final round, with the top 6 vying in the final match. Dharmaratne with 66 on target shots finished the final match firing 35 on target out of 60 clays and the Silvar medallist Prasad Madusanka with 73 on target shots finished the final with 33 out of 60 clays. Sandakelum Ranasinghe of Sri Lanka Air Force with 83 on target shots finished with 24 on target shots out of 50 clays occupied the 3rd position to win the Bronze medal.

SLAF Shooters made a clean sweep of the Ladies segment wining Gold, Silver and Bronze.

NSSF Skeet Nationals was conducted as per the latest International Shooting Sports Federation rules and regulations and local rules pertaining to ‘Course and Fire Squading’.
