Getting into the seasonal mood

As the delicate golden blossoms of the Ehela cascading around city sidewalks make us stop and marvel at their beauty, the new year season brings a brief respite from the usual routine. Giving people a chance to get into the holiday mood, the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development held a grand Avurudu festival last Sunday at the Sports Ministry grounds complete with all the traditional games, cycle races and an Angampora display, followed by a cultural show and musical show to wrap up at the Independence Arcade.
