The Easter story is at the heart of Christianity. Easter is usually celebrated between March 22nd and April 25th.
This year Easter Sunday is on April 1st.

Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the most important Christian festival and celebrated with the greatest joy.

Easter Sunday is the culmination of Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday – the week before Easter Sunday. Holy Thursday is the day of Jesus’ Last Supper.

On Good Friday, Jesus Christ was crucified. His body was taken down from the cross, and placed in a tomb, guarded by an enormous stone over the entrance.

On the following Sunday, some women visited the grave and found that the stone had been moved, and that the tomb was empty.

Jesus himself was seen that day, and for days afterwards by many people.
His followers realised that God had raised Jesus from the dead.
