Fight Cancer Trust organises walk to beat cancer
View(s):The Fight Cancer Trust (Guarantee) Ltd will launch a campaign against cancer on Sunday April 1, with a walk, starting at 7 a.m. from Wellawatte to the Cancer Hospital at Maharagama.
The Fight Cancer Trust in a statement says it has taken the initiative to instal a PET Scan machine at the Maharagama Cancer Hospital from Rs. 250 million in donations collected from Sri Lankans within three months.
School children, parents and members of the security forces and volunteers are invited to join the march. A free health care camp will also be held for the public on this day.
Funds collected at the walk will be channeled toward the purchasing of the much-needed equipment for the hospital.
