GFH honours its female staffers
As the female guests at the International Women’s Day celebrations at the Galle Face Hotel walked into the Grand Ballroom, they were given a single red rose. The event was geared to celebrate the hotel’s female staff– recognising their talent and the hardwork in running the hotel from behind the scenes.
The event held on March 5 was organised by the hotel’s General Manager Deni Ohlsen-Dukic with Mrs. Mavis Gardiner as chief guest. The evening saw performances by some of the female staff of the Hotel, a lucky dip and a feast of short eats.
Lighting the oil lamp were four special ladies who were honoured for their many years of hard work at the Galle Face Hotel– Aruni De Silva, assistant manager of Human Resources, the most senior staff member of the hotel with 35 years of service, Surangani Wijegunawardana, from the Security Department with 20 years of service, Devika Dangolle from the Kitchen Department with 15 years of service and Winfreeda Fernando, from the Housekeeping Department with 14 years of service.
