‘Dhikthala and Kaalagola’ musical play in town
View(s):‘Dhikthala Kaalagola’, Punyasena Gunasinghe’s ever popular musical play will go on the boards at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm on March 17 at Namel Malani Punchi Theatre in Borella.
With a number of ever popular songs written by Charles Silva Gunasinghe the play has a cast comprised of Richard Maanamudali, Jayantha Bandara, Thushari Gunarathne, Isuru Weerasinghe, Upali Bandara, Upali Thiwanka Hewage, Saman Nishantha Gunasinghe, Ranjith Ranaweera and Rohana Wijeya Sri.
The play is also a prescribed text for the GCE (Ordinary Level) Drama and Theatre syllabus.
Music and lyrics by late Charles Silva Gunasinghe while direction and production is by Punyasoma Gunasinghe. Mahendra Gunasinghe and Nandana Gunasinghe handle drum music and costume design is by S. H. Sarath and lighting is by Mihindu Madhushanka.
