Prof. Jayaratne to head SLAAS
View(s):Prof. Chandana Jayaratne will be inducted tomorrow as the President of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) at a ceremony at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Independence Square, at 5 pm.
Science and Technology Minister Susil Premajayantha will be the chief guest at the event.
The SLAAS is the premier scientific body in the country. Founded in 1944, it has a membership of nearly five thousand.
