Palestine Solidarity activists remembered
View(s):The Palestine embassy held a public event on November 2 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute to mark the centenary of the 1917 Balfour Declaration which led to the division of the historic Palestine in 1947 and the creation of Israel. One of the highlights of the event was the awarding of mementoes to the next of kin of the late Dr. T. Jayasinghe, the late A.H.M. Azwer and the late Hameed Abdul Kareem — who were in the forefront of the campaigns to promote the Palestinians’ cause for freedom and justice.
