Hilton Colombo marks 30 years with logo and commemorative stamp

Hilton Colombo celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and a logo and commemorative stamp was issued on September 26 at the hotel.

The celebrations will continue throughout next year. Speaking at the event, General Manager Manesh Fernando said, “ We have been very lucky to have stood through the bad times in the past 30 years. We intend to keep looking forward. Being the luckiest few in the country, we intend to do our best to help the less privileged as part of our celebrations.”

Present at the ceremony were Post Master General Rohana Abhayarathne, Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs M.H.A Haleem., Director of Hotel Developers Lanka (HDL) PLC, Sudarshan Sri Rayan and Sonali Liyanamanne, V. Kanagasabapathy and Jude Wickramaratne also of HDL.

Mr. Fernando speaking of future developments said, “In the next two to three years, we will move into every tourist city in Sri Lanka, taking our hospitality to every corner of the country. Hilton Hotels will be on everyone’s mind, from Dondra to Jaffna.”

“There is no hotel in this country without a Hilton alumni,” said Mr. Fernando speaking of Hilton’s far reaching hospitality.

Team members who have been constant contributors to the Hilton’s success story were honoured at the event, including staff from the Management, gardens, security and recreation sectors.
