Posing off as a dengue inspector, man robs home alone woman
View(s):A man who posed off as a dengue inspecting officer has got away with jewellery, hand phones and cash from a house in Dematagoda, police said. A woman who was staying alone in the house had opened the door for the man around 10.30 a.m. after he informed her that he wanted to check the premises.
After binding the woman with double tape and also taping her mouth the suspect had stolen a necklace valued at Rs.135,000, Rs 20,000 worth earrings and two mobile phones. Police said they were also looking at CCTV footage. The public should check the identity cards of those who come to check premises for dengue, a police officer advised.
