Sampath Bandara to launch latest book ‘Lionel Wendt Art and Life’
View(s):Veteran journalist Sampath Bandara will launch his latest book ‘Lionel Wendt Art and Life’ on August 30 at 3.30 p.m. at the Lionel Wendt art gallery, Colombo 7.
Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Visual and Performing Arts, Prof. Sarath Chandrajeewa, veteran photographer Lal Hegoda, Chairperson of the Sapumal Foundation Rohan de Soya will speak at the launch.
A documentary on Lionel Wendt directed by Dharmasiri Bandaranayake will also be screened. Samapath Bandara is the author of 12 books, including political biographies.
The book includes little known facts, rare photographs and profiles of members of the ’43 Group, which Wendt helped establish. The book is transalated from Sinhala to English by Vijitha Fernando.
