Music is timeless and that is why the memories from Michael Learns To Rock(MLTR)’s  last performance in Sri Lanka still remain fresh, even though it’s been nearly thirteen years, since  they last performed.

The simple yet catchy music that the Danish Pop/ Rock band perform make them relevant even to this day and age.

Since they were formed in 1988, MLTR did not take long to become a renowned international act. The band first entered the charts with their hit “The Actor” and have since released several songs which have topped charts all around the world.

MLTR fans in Sri Lanka will be delighted to know the band will be performing once again on May 18 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), starting at 6.30 pm.

With sales of over 11 million records worldwide, and hit singles such as ‘The Actor’, ‘Sleeping child’, ‘Someday’, ‘Paint My Love’ and ‘You took my heart away’ to name a few their performance will definitely be one to remember, a statement from the organisers said.  Furthermore, fans would get an opportunity to witness some of the band’s newer releases, which includes “We shared the night,” a single they released in 2016 and which they have dedicated to their show in Colombo, this year.

One of the chief organisers tells us, the band was actually surprised that they weren’t approached sooner, to perform in the country. “They enjoyed performing in the country so much last time that they were eager to return,” he says.

MLTR on Stage for One Night is guaranteed to bring back some memories. The show is presented by Lite 87 and the Premier Booking Agency DCI Recruitment (Pvt)Ltd. The group will be staying at The Mövenpick Hotel Colombo. Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC and Classic Travel (Pvt) Ltd. are the Official Banking and Travel Partner respectively while Arpico Supercentre is the Official Retail Partner.

Associated with The Lions Movement in Sri Lanka, the proceeds from the show will go to the “Sight First” Campaign of Lions District 306C2, a fund raiser for an Eye Screening Center specially dedicated for Cataract Surgery and Sight for Kids.
