Save Trees to Save Life
Trees are a great part of our planet. We cannot survive without them. But in today’s world deforestation is powerfully taking its toll. Trees play a major role in the survival of life, in a host of ways. They provide us with food that is necessary for living and oxygen that we need to breathe. Trees also absorb many pollutants like carbon monoxide and other volatile organic compounds.
So without trees life is not possible at all as we would not have any oxygen to breathe. Trees are a shelter for many birds, animals and insects. If we cut trees, these species lose their shelter and their lives will be totally disturbed. Deforestation is taking rule over the world, so we must Save Trees to Save Life.

My trip to Nuwara Eliya

It was Saturday April 8, 2017.
By 5 in the morning we left our home. We decided to go to Nuwara Eliya with one of school friends. I went with my friend’s family and my family. By 8 in the morning we stopped at Kitulgala to have breakfast. By 1.30 in the afternoon, we came to Nuwara Eliya. Our hotel was ‘The Blackpool Hotel’ and I saw something awesome. It was a timing race competition. The name of the competition was ‘Mahagasthota Hill Climb’.
There were model cars, racing cars and the road to go to the hotel was the race track. We could see the race track clearly from the hotel. The day we came, was the practice for the race.
On Sunday we went to watch the competition. A Subaru crashed into a wall very fast. The driver was hurt but he didn’t give up. One car had to go two times. The first time he crashed, his timing was 37 seconds.  The second time he beat his earlier timing. It was 24 seconds and he won the competition too.
By evening the scenery was beautiful in Nuwara Eliya. On Monday April 10, after breakfast we left our hotel. We thought before leaving Nuwara Eliya to go to Piduruthalagala Mountain. We went there in our own vehicle. It was an amazing view from the top of the mountain.
The Air Force uncles explained to us about Piduruthalagala. I was very excited because I was on the highest point in Sri Lanka. If the mist wasn’t there, we would have seen ‘Adam’s Peak’. I had so much of excitement on top of Piduruthalagala. By 7 in the night we came home. I never had a more glorious trip ever.

My trip to Bangkok
It was on the 5th of April 2017. I was at the Katunayake airport. I was ready to go to Bangkok with my mother and father. We were going to spend eight days there. In my opinion, it was such a long journey and I guess that it was because of this time that we faced
many problems in Bangkok.

It was very peaceful the first four days. We were going shopping in malls, we went to the Safari World and we also went to the Ocean World and the Wax Museum at Siam Paragon in Bangkok. We travelled in taxis and speeding
‘tuk-tuks’, which are quite like trishaws in our country.
After four days, things went bad for us. We caught fever and every evening we suffered headaches. Still we were able to go to Coral Island, a small island near Thailand. It was so hot. The temperature exceeded 38 degrees Celcius, and we did know Sri Lanka had a cooler atmosphere. From that day onwards we were looking forward to come back home. We were really glad when we reached home on April 13th. Everyone did expect us to tell that Thailand was hot. I think this was the worst journey I ever went in my life.
