Beware of virus: Don’t spoil your New Year
View(s):The Epidemiology Unit has called upon the people to take precautions during the festive season in view of the increasing number of cases of influenza.
The Health Ministry’s Consultant Epidemiologist Dr. Samitha Ginige said that during the National New Year season most streets were crowded with shoppers and those travelling to their villages. Therefore, the viral disease could easily spread. He said that people in the high risk categories should take extra precautions.
