Shakespeare Centre Sri Lanka, which promotes theatre and theatre artistes is calling for new applications to groom its 9th batch of trainees in theatre and arts.

The Centre has made an immense contribution to the theatre arts and it has been introducing new artistes.

“This course will be done as a diploma with areas covering the studies of theatre and drama, Shakespeare theatre, educational theatre, acting and translation,” Dr. Nilanka Liyanage, the Secretary of the educational sector of the Shakespeare Centre said.

Thecourse will be conducted from 2017 — 2018 on Sundays and the participants will be given the opportunity to join theatre productions based on William Shakespeare’s Othello, Hamlet, Macbeth and the cinema production on Hamlet.

The enthusiastic theatre lovers those interested in taking part in a well-disciplined course of classical drama and theatre are invited to send in their applications with personal detail to Care of Gamini de Silva, President of the Shakespeare Centre Sri Lanka, “Sudarshi”, 375, Bauddhaloka Mw, Colombo 7.
