Rupavahini’s ‘Pinkama’ in the final round of ABU Prizes

‘Pinkama’, one episode teledrama directed by Athula Peiris and produced by Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation was selected for the final round of ABU Prizes 2016.

Among the other plays selected for the final round are from Germany, Iran and Vietnam.

The play star Jayalath Manoratne, Jayani Senanayake, Chandana Irugalbandara and Asadi Dewmini.

Music direction is by Navaratne Gamage, camera by Rohana Samaraweera and lighting of ‘Pinkama’ by Somaratne Perera.

Formed in 1964 as a non-profit, professional association of broadcasting organizations, the ABU provides a forum for promoting the collective interests of television and radio broadcasters, and encourages regional and international co-operation between broadcasters

At present it has over 280 members in 57 countries and regions, reaching a potential audience of about 3 billion people. The ABU’s role is to help the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region and to promote the collective interests of its members.
