A tribute to my Teachers!

When I walked through the gates of Musaeus College, I could barely speak much or barely do anything on my own. Yet, my teacher didn’t mind. When I cried my eyes out and wept throughout the day she consoled me. She said my mother will always come back to pick me and I need not worry. Her kind words still echo in me.
She became my second mother.

A year later, I was taught even more interesting things. I was told that if I ate a crust of bread, my teeth would be stronger and the bread won’t be wasted. I was taught so many other important habits.
One more year passed and then I could read letters. I was not good.
at first but my teacher didn’t mind. Yet another year passed and I felt like a big girl. Teachers loved me, cared for me and disciplined me. They taught me things I could not learn on my own.
On a very special day like today, when the whole world celebrates ‘Teachers Day’ I want to thank all my teachers for bearing with little me and showing me right from wrong.
I will promise to make you proud of me one day! Happy Teachers Day!

Reading
I love to read. It makes your imagination grow
It is the best. It makes your knowledge flow.
Whatever I do, there is a book in front of my face.
Anywhere I go, even in a lonely place.
It can make waiting stop,
It’s not boring in a shop,
Yes, reading is the best.
There is no need to rest.

Stop violence against children
This year’s theme for Children’s Day is ‘Stop Violence Against Children’. In today’s world, children are faced with many difficulties in their lives such as abuse, illiteracy and violence.
Parents who hurt their children, children who are not cared for, sexual abuse, bullying, all have led to a lot of psychological trauma for kids. This has resulted in low self esteem, insecurity, lack of self confidence, and poor intellectual performance by children.
It is the duty of every adult, to help care and nurture the children of the world by helping to “Stop Violence against Children”.

I see them together in the
daytime. The parrots are scared of dogs. They can fly very fast. I keep a plate of fruits on the mango tree. Lovely comes to eat them. I know that parrots can talk. Lovely does not speak words but I am trying to teach her.

My favourite author
My favourite author is Roald Dahl.
He was born on September 13. Roald Dahl’s mother Sofie and father Harold were Norwegians. He had four sisters.
In 1929, when he was thirteen, Roald Dahl was sent to a boarding school. He hated school and his report was not good.
He never thought that he would end up as a writer. He had a very strict daily routine. After breakfast from 10.30 a.m., until 12 p.m., he would write books in his writing hut. He had a particular kind of American Yellow Paper used for writing and a special Yellow pencil with a rubber on the end. Once he finished writing a book, his secretary would send it to the publisher.
I have read many of his books such as, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’,
‘The Twits’, ‘The BFG’, ‘Matilda’,

‘Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator’ and ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’. There are no favourite books of his for me as I like all of them so much.
Roald Dahl also loved playing with words and inventing new ones such as Gobblefunk, Babbersnitch, Frothbungling, Snozzcumbers, Goggler, Trogglehumper, Hornswaggler, Ringbeller and
Oompa-Loompa which meant a very small person. Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity exists to make life better for seriously ill children because it believes that every child has the right to a marvellous life.

I like his books so much because they contain funny characters and the stories are very hilarious and exciting.

Good habits
Good habits are essential for a person to lead a disciplined life.
It is very easy to fall into bad habits when life becomes dull. Good habits are therefore important if we wish to succeed
in life.

The great men of this world
led simple lives and followed
good habits. An old saying comes to mind in this connection.
‘Early to bed and early to rise
Makes a man healthy, wealthy
and wise.’

We as children should work hard at our studies, and indulge in useful habits too. We should eat good, wholesome food and take sufficient physical exercise. We should learn to be obedient and respectful to our elders and friendly with all our classmates.
Helpfulness, sympathy and gentleness are also qualities which are appreciated by everyone –
we should aim to attain them.

Self-discipline helps us in hard times, and we are able to cope with all kinds of difficult situations.
Good habits from childhood stay with us when we grow up and enable us to become better human beings and good citizens.

But I can say we had a funny time. I can remember it and I can be happy. Vileka and Chami are my valuable and funny friends forever.
