Ed Sheeran lends a hand to support hometown in Suffolk

DrakeEd Sheeran is helping his hometown hospice in Suffolk, England by donating clothes he has worn for special events. The items of clothing went on sale at the St. Elizabeth Hospice charity shop in Framingham, Suffolk on 24th September. The items Sheeran wore on the set of the film Bridget Jones’ Baby, the Brit Awards and the Grammy Awards were listed for sale on eBay until 4th October.

Justin Bieber could be on course to starting his own record label in partnership with his label Universal. Reports suggest is working on the plan with his manager Scooter Braun. The Canadian singer is keen to sign on new talent.

Meanwhile reports have emerged Justin Bieber has escaped an attack in Germany by a man who lunged at him. The incident occurred on 23rd September as the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker was leaving the Heart nightclub in Munich. The man was apparently tackled by the singer’s aides. Bieber was quickly escorted out of the nightclub by a barmaid. Bieber is in Europe on his Purpose World tour.

Rapper star Drake has a short film called Please Forgive Me based on his current album ‘Views’. The 23 minute film was shot in Soweto, South Africa. Eight songs from Drake’s album ‘Views’ are featured on the film.

October 1st was International Children’s Day. To mark the occasion a special version of John Lennon’s most famous song ‘Imagine’ was released with a makeover featuring several prominent figures from the world of entertainment among them Shakira, Katy Perry, David Guetta, Priyanka Chopra, will.i.am, Idris Elba, Adam Lambert, Craig David, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Scherzinger and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. The UNICEF project began in 2014, supported by Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono.

The hit song ‘Closer’ by Chainsmokers has pushed 82,500 copies and clocked up four weeks to remain as the UK’s No: 1 on the singles chart. In total ‘Closer’ have over 350,000 copies in combined sales.

The highest debuting song of the week ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ by James Arthur debuted on the chart at No: 2. The song came out on 16th September and at the count for the first week has combined sales of 60,000. The acoustic guitar led ballad which is also piano backed is very much in the mould of Ed Sheeran. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is the lead of single from Arthur’s forthcoming album ‘Back From The Edge’ which is due in November. The hit song is James Arthurs third top 10 UK hit. He was the 2012 X-Factor winner who was signed on the Simon Cowell’s Syco label, but dropped later after his career went into a tailspin.

Calvin Harris is back with another hit song ‘My Way’. The song released on 16th September has debuted on the UK singles chart at No: 5. The tropical house track is the singer, song writer, producer and DJ’s 19th UK top 10 hit. Of the 19 top hits Harris has done sole vocals on six.  ‘My Way’ is the fourth standalone release by the 32 year old musician.
