The annual ‘Gonpita Perahera’ of the Nawagamuwa Sath Pattini Devale was held on August 13, 14 and 15, 2016.
This traditional ceremony has been conducted for the past 1500 years in honour of Goddess Pattini, to invoke blessings on the village.

The white bulls used in this perahera are reared by the villagers specifically for this purpose and are not used for any other work.
