The person I admire the most
The person I admire the most is my loving mother. She happily carried me in her belly for ten long months. She gave birth to me and allowed me to see the bright world. With love she fed me with her sweet milk. She cuddled me and loved me by giving loving kisses.

My mother bathed me and dressed me nicely and let me play. She put me to sleep by singing sweet lovely songs.
My mother is a graduate but she left her job to look after me and my sister. She helps us in our school work. She gets up very early in the morning to cook our food. My mother can cook and make delicious cakes and puddings too. She does all the housework and goes to bed very late .

in the night. She is very fond of reading. My sweet mother’s name is Nadeera. She is a nice looking lady.
I worship my mother before going to school and before going to be in the night. I wish her health, wealth and long life with happiness. I love my most admired person very much.
That is my mother.

If I were someone else,
I would be…
I would be one of my closest friends Amridha Faiz. I’ve known her for almost 10 years and I have never yet known her to tell a lie or do anything bad. She is the picture of responsibility and is level-headed and dependable. If you ask her to bring something, the next day it would be there waiting for you. These are some of the many reasons why I would like to be her. There are more to come.
Amridha is very trust-worthy and is as honest as the day. She is the girl who many people confide in. Another reason I would like to be her is because she has a great sense of humour. Amridha and I have shared many laughs over the jokes she tells me.
Also, she rarely ever gets angry. She is very sweet-tempered and easy going. She is smart and hard-working too and often gets good marks in all her subjects. Amridha is also modest and has never boasted about anything that she has achieved.
Amridha is an ideal friend and role model. One of the best things that I like about her is her devotion to her religion. If I could be anyone, I would most definitely be her. I wish that in the future I would be more like her.

Let’s save our animals friends
Animals have been a very important part of Mother Nature. They always save and protect the environment and nature. People rear some animals at homes as pets or for work purposes. Dogs, cats, fish, parrots and rabbits are some pet animals. Elephants, horses, camels, donkeys and cows help man in his difficult work. Hens, turkeys, fish, sheep, cows, goats and swine are used by man to gets eggs, milk, medicine, meat and skins.

Lots of people cut down trees and pollute nature. They establish new settlements and poach on wild animals. Animals lose their food, water, habitats and lifestyles. Man threatens them by shooting and making traps and snares. Animals become threatened and endangered species due to careless human actions. Finally their total number decrease fast and they disappear from this earth forever.

If we do not protect animals, soon nature will be destroyed. Trees, plants, and other beings and animals will become extinct. Man will have to live alone. Nature is a web. When one strand is broken the whole web will be broken. So we humans should love and be kind to animals.

How is the rainbow formed?
During the rainy season you might have observed a bow shaped multi-coloured strip in the sky. This is called a rainbow. How are the rainbows formed? The sunlight which appears to be white is actually composed of seven colours. These colours are violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. The wave length-wise distribution of these colours is called a spectrum.

After the rains, the atmosphere is full of water drops. When the white light from the sun enters the drop, its seven colours are separated. These colours after being totally reflected from the back of the raindrops, when the rays of these colours reach our eyes, they give us the appearance of the rainbow. The rainbow is circular because the sun is also circular.

The role of a teacher
A teacher is a second mother for the students. After being with mum, next the children go to the teachers. Teachers are responsible for everything that a child does. The teacher’s main role is to give children education and teach good habits and good behavioral patterns and a good culture.

Teachers are very kind enough to give some knowledge to the children. Teachers don’t wait till their payments are made.
A teacher must be a good example to the students. Teachers must teach the importance of learning and achieving goals.
A teacher recognizes every movement of a child. She is a mentor and a strict disciplinarian. A teacher must be more careful when teaching, when using words and guiding children. Everyone can’t be a teacher.

We must love teachers, respect them and learn well and teach the next generation. A teacher’s job is a noble one. Every job comes under and starts from a teacher.

Animal Rights Humans have evolved on
planet Earth for millions of years. They have developed greatly within these years too. But they have forgotten that they couldn’t develop without the help of the environment.

Humans have built grand houses, grand cities, highways and all sorts of places that they need for living. But they have ignored the animals of this world. They have made many ways of making our lives possible, but they did not get anything in return. Because of human acts, thousands of species are at risk of extinction.

Not only humans have the right to live as they think. Even the animals should have the right to live peacefully. Humans kill animals for sport and hunting, which are actually of no use. If humans don’t do things that kill animals, such as destroying their ecosystems, we all can live rightfully and peacefully without affecting the world.

A trip to Bangkok
During this August school vacation my parents took us on a trip to Thailand. We went to Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport and took our plane. After three hours of travel we got down at Bangkok Airport. Bangkok is a beautiful and popular city. It is the capital of Thailand. A taxi took us to the hotel.
In the Dream World there are many enjoyable items. We played there very happily. Bump Boat, Bump Car, Bicycle Boat, Tornado, Go Cart, Cable Car, Antique Car, Monorail, Snow Town, Thunder Bird, Animal Farm, Flying Fish, Super Splash and Seven Wonders of the World. All these items are fun to play. We went to see Wat Inn and the Marble Temple.
It was a fine and interesting journey. I thank my parents for taking us on this journey.
