Kacha Kacha, a platform for urban singers, rappers, poets and songwriters will take to a new home today (July 10) at the Metropolitan Hotel in Colombo 11. The event begins at 6pm, entrance is free.

Curator Imaad Majeed hosted the first Kacha Kacha as part of Cinnamon Colomboscope in August 2015, bringing together original rappers, poets and singer-songwriters, performing in Sinhala, Tamil and English for “a night of uncensored expression”. Kacha Kacha was conceived by Colomboscope co-curator Radhika Hettiarachchi, and is now curated by Imaad who also moonlights as a poet, music producer and Yamu writer. Since its inception the evening was hosted at Castle Hotel-with its closing in February, the event has found a new home at the Metropolitan Hotel-at least for this fourth edition.
