St. Servatius College made amends to their near defeat at the hands of St. Thomas’ College Matara in the 116th Battle of the Blues by registering a 7-wicket win in the 17th limited over encounter between the two schools which was   played at the Uyanwatta Stadium yesterday.

Electing to bat first the Matara, Thomians struggled to reach 116 with their batsmen falling victim to the left arm leg spin of Sashika Dilshan 5/24 and Chanuka Dilshan 2/13. Skipper Nimantha Kavishwara topped the score card with 34 runs scored off 39 balls with five boundaries.

The Servatians helped by an exact half ton scored off an equal number of balls by Thilan Kumara surpassed the required runs in 25.2 overs. Sandaru Nethmina (21) and Ashen Deemantha (20) batted well. Hashin Dilmal, Maleesha de Seram and Dishanthika Jayaweera captured a wicket each.
