Kia’s 2016 Rio Sedan arrives in Sri Lanka
View(s):The 2016 edition of iconic Korean car maker Kia’s Rio subcompact sedan has arrived in Sri Lanka, the brand’s sole local distributor Kia Motors (Lanka) Ltd. has announced in a media release. Another representation of Kia’s credo of ‘performance without compromise,’ the four-door sedan is powered by a 1400cc die-cast aluminium low weight engine that develops to 107 Bhp while delivering economical fuel consumption, the local Kia agent revealed. Standard features include multifunction telescopic steering with Bluetooth and audio remote control, a factory fitted radio with CD/MP3 player that be connected to any kind of external musical device, electric power steering (EPS) and power-folding outside mirrors with turn signal indicators.
The media release quoted Andrew Perera, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Motors (Lanka) Ltd as saying “With all Kia SUVs and cars sold in Sri Lanka, the Rio is backed by our 100,000 km/three year warranty and after sales service, making it one of the best buys in the subcompact sedan category”. Besides the Kia Rio, Kia Motors (Lanka) markets the Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage SUVs, the Kia Optima luxury sedan, the Kia Cerato mid-sized sedan, the Kia Picanto compact car and the Kia Grand Carnival Multi-purpose Vehicle (MPV). Over 3 million Kia vehicles a year are produced in 10 manufacturing and assembly operations in five countries which are then sold and serviced through a network of distributors and dealers covering around 150 countries including Sri Lanka.
