Sri Lanka Air Force felicitated its sports stars with service promotions and cash awards at a ceremony held at the SLAF Headquarters, Colombo.
Fifty three Air Force personnel who excelled at the recently concluded South Asian Games in various track and field events who brought fame the country and to the Air Force were felicitated by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala in a glittering ceremony which was organised in a view to motivate and encourage sportsmen and women of the SLAF to bring more glory to the motherland and to the Air Force. Following Gold medallists were promoted to the next higher rank as follows: To the rank of Sergeant: Cpl Manjula Kumara, Cpl. Jeewan Jayasinghe, Cpl. Nimali Liyanarachchi. To the rank of Corporal: Aircraftman Ishara Sandaruwan.
