A marvel and a miracle

View(s):

A creative and imaginative chariot designed by three artists from the Weliwita parish was widely admired when it carried the statue of Our Lady of Fatima in the procession to celebrate the feast of the Blessed Mother at Fatima Church, Battaramulla last Saturday night. The statue was placed behind the holy Bible with a cross in front, two angels and the four gospel writers.

The most beautiful feature was the rosary with the beads being of fresh apples and the cross symbolically in a grape. Hundreds of people including the school band from the Kadalana Parish took part in the procession from 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Miraculously, as in the final apparition of Fatima, the heavy rain completely ceased during the time of the procession.
