Questions Unanswered

Every single person has
questions to ask
We ask questions to make friends, to learn, to complete a task
We ask them to get some
answer confirmed
But most of the questions
still remain unanswered

Where do we come from
before we were born?
Where does our soul go
when our body is gone?
What is beauty and what is time?
What’s the difference between living and being alive?

Where does the universe end
and how did it begin?
Is there a reason to life?
Is life all a dream?
Where is the line between
insanity and creativity?
What is illusion and what
is reality?

Should you care about doing the right thing or ‘doing things right’?
Is it better to run away safely
or go down with a fight?
Is it worse to fail at something
or never attempt it?
Is a ‘wrong’ act okay
if no-one ever knows of it?

There are many more questions that haven’t been answered
Many wonderful things that haven’t been discovered
Maybe one day they’ll be answered and will go down in history
Until then these questions
will remain a mystery

THE Sandwich

‘August 12’. It is a Wednesday. Is there anything special about that day? Yes, there is. In the USA it is a day for celebrations to give recognition to her middle children.  I am a middle child, sandwiched between an older sister who is 15 and a younger brother who is 7. According to the books, the first born is very, very dominating and the last born, a bit spolit because he is pampered too much.

I agree with the statements sometimes when my sister Acushla tries to boss me and my brother Mehul tries to snatch my belongings. But we are one family and I adore them and they love me too.

Luckily for me, I don’t get hand-me-downs. It’s my brother who gets them. That is a plus point for me. Outside home, I am a very popular child with so many friends. I want to be an achiever, not just A Sandwich. But THE Sandwich, which means I Am Someone.

My ambition
Each and everyone in the world has an ambition. My ambition is to be a doctor; where a man should always be ready to cure a man’s sickness. I will be very sincere in my ambition. As a doctor, I will love each and everyone who comes to me in curing their ailments.
I will love the patients whoever
they are. I will do my best for them. I am sure my ambition will never go waste. I will be always ready to treat the sick people whether it is day or night, rainy or sunny. I’ll always be ready to answer if anyone calls me from anywhere.

How I spent my holiday
On April 9, I got my holidays.
On that day we had New Year celebrations at school. We got certificates and after that we got holidays. We were all very happy.
My family and I went to buy new clothes. April means New Year month, all are in the shops buying clothes, food and presents. On April 14, we had the New Year.
After the New Year on April 15, my family and I went on a trip to Polonnaruwa. We went to our friend’s home. We played and spent the time at our friend’s home. On April 16, they took us to Pasekudah. But we couldn’t bathe there. We only went on a boat ride and played on the seashore. Then they took us to Polonnaruwa again and took us to a canal. We bathed, played and enjoyed the time happily. They took us to their home and we had lunch. Again we started playing.
Early morning the next day, we came back to our home. I spent my holiday happily.

The beach
Last month we went to the Negombo beach. I went with my father, mother and my brother. It was fun. We played
volleyball and football. There were so many people. We walked along the beach. We saw some seagulls flying over the coconut trees. We also saw several boats sailing far away in the sea.
There were lots of seashells on the beach. We collected them and put them into a bag. We saw some children building a sand castle. The sun was very hot at that time. The white sand on the beach was very clean. We enjoyed ourselves very much on that day.

Television
Today we live among modern technology. We use technology for our day-to-day activities. Radio, phones and computers are some of them. Television also is an important technology for human beings.
Nowadays, many people watch television. Watching television is a popular hobby among children and adults. We get many advantages and a few disadvantages by watching television.
Sometimes, children and some adults always watch television without doing any work. Sometimes, our eyes can become blurred and we have to wear spectacles. So we must watch television
15 feet away.
Television is a good technology for this society but we shouldn’t use it in an improper manner.

The little kite
I’m a little kite,
Flying in the sky,
Over the birds and over the villages,
And rest at night.
And dreams,
That tomorrow,
I will eat an ice-cream,
And again fly, fly and fly,
And make new friends,
Like Mrs. Lina Lioness
And her three cubs,
Who lived in a den.
