The 32nd annual Academic Congress of the College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka has been recognized by the Royal College of Anaesthetists ( UK) as an event to be awarded Continuous Professional Development ( CPD) points.
The congress will be held from January 27 to February 1, 2016. The pre-congress workshops will be held from January 27-29 while the main academic congress will be on January 30 and 31. A post- congress symposium will be held on February 1.

The sessions have attracted an internationally reputed panel of speakers who are world authorities on anaesthesia, critical care and pain. The workshop will be conducted by international teams. Prof. Michael Mythen, Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, University College, London, Chair, National Academy of Anaesthesia, UK will be the chief guest.

Dr. David Wilkinson, President, World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiology and Dr. Harshi Boralessa, formerly Chief of Critical care, Oldchurch Hospital, UK would be the guests of honour. The prestigious annual Dr. B. S. Perera oration in memory of a pioneering anaesthetist would be delivered by Prof. Richard Langford, consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain, St. Bartholomews Hospital, UK and past President, British Pain Society.
