It’s everyone’s favourite hangout and yes, it’s ten years old. The Commons coffee house is celebrating with exciting new menus and weekly specials in June. Food and coffees have been their forte and the wide selection of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, Rotti specials and of course the milkshakes, frappes and other delectable desserts are all there with new additions.

‘We wish to thank our loyal clients for their unstinted support through all these years to enjoy the first home grown brand of Coffee Houses in the city. It’s been an exciting 10-year journey developing the brand, which was my first venture into the restaurant industry,” said MD Harpo Gooneratne.

“It’s definitely became everyone’s cosy hangout. The unique Rotti cart and Commons Burgers are other brands we have promoted. I look forward to expanding in order to offer the Commons coffee house experience in other parts of the city and suburbs,” Harpo added.

A commemorative ‘ Down Memory lane” menu with weekly specials at memorable prices and the launch of a new menu took place in May. The CSR programme focused on a meal with the elderly at St Martin’s home Thimbirigasyaya and other charity projects have been planned for the year.

“We invite all to enjoy the many promotions planned. The refurbishment offers a vibrant interior and more space for all to enjoy,” said Kishani Karunaratne, Director Operations, who has been with Commons since its inception 10 years ago.
