A group of Chinese photographers were scheduled to arrive yesterday (March 28) on a familiarisation tour of the country aimed at promoting Sri Lanka in China.

The Shanghai Photographers Association would be in the country from March 28 to April 2 aimed at capturing the sights and attractions of Sri Lanka to showcase these at a photographic exhibition in Shanghai upon their return to China.

The team comprises 56 photographers with the tour leader from Grand China MICE Tourism; some of these photographers were members of the leading media in China as well, officials said.

While some have already visited the country, for a majority of the others it would be their first trip to the island nation and they would be photographing around Sri Lanka.

During their stay they would be touring Negombo, Colombo, Sigiriya, Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Hikkaduwa.
