The Peterite Vehicle Parade – 7th year and counting

View(s):

Watch out for Blue White and Gold on Marine Drive as the Peterite vehicle parade makes its way on Saturday, March 14 from 7 a.m. from Marrybrown, Wellawatte to the R.Premadasa Grounds.

Begun in 2009 among the OBU to support the Peterite Big Match, the vehicle parade has now come a long way. Starting with just 30 vehicles that took to the streets in 2009, the number grew to an impressive 600 in 2014. The trend caught on with Peterites of all ages and each year the enthusiasm and excitement to be a part of this parade grew.

The creative brains behind the idea are Shanaka Gunasekera and Lashan Ranasinghe (Batch of 2007).

This year the Parade is expected to have over 800 vehicles and more than 2500 spectators and participants. All passionate cricket and motor enthusiasts, proud Peterites, will come together on March 14 with the Peterite flag flying high to cheer their team on.
