Low scoring game ends in favour of Old Servatians
Old Servatians CA & FC registered a first innings win against Rio Sports Club in a low scoring first round match of the Donovan Andree trophy cricket tournament played at the Uyanwatte stadium.

Seventy overs of play was lost in the two day game due to rain, unsafe ground conditions and bad light.
The home team on being invited to bat first after a delayed start were restricted to 86 runs by Kasun Tharaka 6/26 (9 overs) and Supun Madhusanka 3/11 (11 overs). Akila Kaushalya (19) was the highest run getter.
The home team in their turn on the field, aided by the bowling of right arm medium fast Akila Kaushalya (5/24) and left arm leg spinner Chanuka Dilshan (4/36) bowled the visitors out for 80 runs to give the Old Servatians a first innings lead. Kasun Tharaka scored 31 runs off 50 balls with four boundaries.
In the second innings, Old Servatians continuing from their overnight second innings total of 7/0 were dismissed for 84 runs by Rio SC’s Left arm leg spin duo Lahiru de Silva 5/33 and Kasun Tharaka 4/26. Lochana Mohotti 15 was the top run getter. With a victory target of 91 runs Rio SC were 50/6 when play was called off due to bad light.
