A film and a musical band
For the first time in the history of Sri Lankan cinema, a musical band is named after a film and used for the promotion of the cinematic production.
The musical band ‘Spandana’ which has been formed after young director Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa’s latest film ‘Spandana’ is now being performing around the country while promoting the film which is scheduled to be released in the beginning of 2015. A number of musicians have hailed the performance of the new band which comprise of all new comers to the musical scene. The promotion of the film started with a mega musical show performed by the musical band in Kurunegala recently.
‘Spandana’ a suspenseful story stars Roshan Ranawana, Shalani Tharaka, Dilhani Ashokamala, Mahendra Perera and Dharshan Dharmaraj. The filmmaker Lokuhewa says that the film producers are ready to sponsor any musical shows that are organised in any part of the country till March 2015.
