View(s):M. F. Prasadini of Athurugiriya appeals for help for her daughter, 12-year-old P. Yelani Roshelle de Silva, student of Good Shepherd Convent Kotahena, who is suffering from severe Thoracolumbar Scoliosis.
Doctors have recommended that she should undergo Posterior Scoliosis correction and instrumentation surgery for which she has to go to Apollo Hospital in Chennai, India as the surgery is not done in Sri Lanka. It is estimated that the surgery will cost Indian Rs. 800,000 which is roughly Rs. 1,700,000 as well as other examination costs which will all together amount to Rs. 2, 700, 000. She has been referred to Dr. Sajan K. Hegde of Apollo Hospital, India by the consultant orthopaedic surgeon of Peradeniya Teaching Hospital Dr. H. J. Suraweera.
