Adam Flamer-Caldera, whom local fashionistas will see on the ramp as next month’s HSBC Colombo Fashion Week’s Resort Wear show unfolds in Negombo, is the model of the moment in New York and can lay claim to the title of Sri Lanka’s first male Super Model.

Early show: Adam at a past CFW

This year alone the list of brands that he has modelled for boasts the likes of Brunello Cucinelli, True Religion jeans, Dolce&Gabbana and Jockey. He is currently the face of the prestigious Saks Fifth Avenue, his image on giant billboards in the Big Apple. He has done several prestigious shoots for brands like Nautica, Gant, Mossimo, Greg Lauren (nephew of Ralph Lauren) and also just finished the suit shoot for the prestigious men’s fashion magazine, Esquire.

Yet,what is most intriguing is that the suave young man with the smouldering looks is not carving out a career in this field. Adam Flamer-Caldera has taken off a year from his studies at Columbia Medical School to be a doctor and in that time amazingly become Ford-Models’ most prized possession. The year has not finished yet, and it seems like he has done all that an accomplished model in New York can dream off.
That he is Ford Models’ busiest model at the moment speaks volumes. One of the most renowned modelling agencies in the world, Ford’s portfolio includes all those faces that showcase the world’s best brands.

Adam was one of 20 models that Ford chose to participate at the just concluded New York Fashion Week and has done prestigious assignments in Brazil for their top fashion brand, Canada etc.

Last year when he was still a part time model he was featured in the December issue of Esquire which had Hollywood star George Clooney on the cover.

The question in many minds then, is, how far is Hollywood? And with Adam already having one Indie film in production, it may not be very far.
Followers of Colombo Fashion Week may remember his face for interestingly Adam Flamer Caldera, is an original product of Colombo Fashion Week and the face of Arugam Bay Beachwear. Flying down later this month to take part in the Resort Wear edition of Colombo Fashion Week from October 1 to 4, he will give local audiences a glimpse of the international.

Adam is missing a few important assignments in New York so that he could be part of something he loves, says CFW Founder and President Ajai Vir Singh.
