Luxury watches on display at Galle Face Court

Jaeger-LeCoultre, the world acclaimed wrist watch manufacturers are in Sri Lanka for all luxury wrist watch lovers. Their latest collections of 2014 were presented to Sri Lanka last week at the Chatham showroom in Galle Face Court 1. The collection, including its exceptional Hybris Mechanica and Haute Joaillerie creations, was available for public viewing for two days- Wednesday till Friday. The impressive showcase marked the first time a collection of this nature was on display in the country offering clients a rare insight into the exquisite and elaborate craftsmanship involved in watch making.

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 by self-taught watchmaker Antoine LeCoultre. The company recently celebrated 180 years in watch making, and are known as the inventors of the Valle de Joux and also t he inventors of the pinion-cutting machine invented back in 1833 and also the world’s most extraordinary collections of ultra-thin watches, including the thinnest in the world, equipped with LeCoultre Calibre 145 (1.38 mm thick).

“Since 1833 Jaeger-LeCoultre has always pushed the boundaries of innovation whilst staying true to its rich heritage and tradition. We are thrilled to be in Sri Lanka to showcase our latest collections and reveal a snapshot into more than 181 years of history and the extensive array of our craftsmanship that takes place at ‘La Grande Maison’ (the big house) under one single roof,” said Country Manager for Jaeger-LeCoultre, Dinesh Aswani,. “As our partnership with Chatham Luxury continues to grow, we look forward to an even stronger presence in the market,” he added.

The collection showcased in Sri Lanka includes the Reverso, the Rendez-Vous and the Duomètre. The Hybris Mechanica collection which features 11 watches that are true technical feats. A selection of these exceptional pieces took pride of place at this event.

Chatham which recently celebrated their third anniversary is Sri Lanka’s first multi-brand watch store.
