already there doing this, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday at the opening of the Outer Circular Highway from Kottawa to Kaduwala.

“Even the international community which is complaining about the human rights violations in our country, agrees that the infrastructure is being developed. While they praise the development in our country, they ask us to initiate a methodology to bring together the hearts of the people,” he said, adding that, this is what the Government is doing irrespective of the ethnicity of the people.

The President went on to say that the Heads of Commonwealth States who visited Sri Lanka to attend the CHOGM, were surprised to see the development which is taking place in the country, within the short period, following the 30 years of war.
He said that the newly opened Outer Circular Highway will be a vital part of the upcoming highway network.
