Feet tapped, voices hummed along and hearts soared at this year’s Joy to the World, a Christmas concert held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre last Saturday. The annual event is now in its fourth year and running strong and saw several of the country’s most renowned performers take to the stage pro bono to raise funds for poverty alleviation projects conducted by the Archdiocese of Colombo and the Blessed Joseph Vaz Trust.

Among the performers for the evening were the De Lanerolle Brothers, Voice Print, Helen Massey and Caroline Jeya Ratnam, who performed rousing seasonal numbers to a captivated audience. They were joined by choirs Bambini and Pueri Cantores led by Francis Almeida.
