A massive protest and picketing campaign was planned in front of a leading sports body. At the last moment, however, it was called off apparently due to pressure from the top. Behind this protest, picketing was a key figure in the sports arena. It is understood that the protest was against a leading sports personality who had been at the helm of this international sports body for sixteen years. It is also understood that there are several who are willing to speak up for this sports personality but they are holding their breaths due to the repercussions that can crop up by the individual who had planned this event, who also happens to be a powerful figure in sports.

Official business

There is this former lady athlete who has made four trips on official business even though the sports body that she represents has not held any meet or the AGM for the past several years. She has accompanied these teams as managers and now the governing body wants to know who authorised her trips and who paid for them. There is also another top athlete heading a sports body in the outstations who has not done anything for the sport. She also happens to be the vice president of the controlling body for this sport.

The other side of the coin

There is also the other side of any story. This time, secret discussions had taken place favouring the top figure in a leading sports body that is under fire from the top gun in sports. It is understood that a former leading woman athlete is also supporting this official and she has openly said that the allegations against this official are baseless. Anyway she has said in no uncertain terms that sports and politics should never be mixed.

Pressure from the top

The Ex-Co meeting of a popular sport is scheduled to be held in the near future and a leading man who is quite popular with the oval ball is to take up the post left vacant after one of the VPs called it a day. It has now been revealed that this leading figure has been asked to take up the post due to pressure from the top and he has been asked to monitor all situations carefully and report them to the top.
