Dialog President’ Cup Volleyball Championship which concluded at the National Youth Services Centre Indoor Stadium in Maharagama yesterday.

Balaras SC got the better of United SC in the men’s final with a three set to one in the five set encounter. Balaras SC went into the lead taking the first sets with score of 25-23 and 25-15 before being edged out in the third set 23-25. But they came back to win the fourth with ease by 25-09.

In the women’s encounter United SC defeated Kapila SC Siyambalagoda by the same winning margin of 3-1. United SC eased to a two set lead with identical scores of 25-15 while their opponents fought back to win the third with the same score of 21-15.

In a bitter battle of the fourth set the champion United SC side prevailed in a thrilling encounter by 25-22 to emerge champion. Two players from the champion team Pramesh Prasanna (Balaras SC) and United SC skipper Dinesha Prasadhani were selected as the most valuable players of the championship.
