Female supervisor dies after falling off 50-ft building

A twenty-five-year-old female works supervisor who fell off a 50-ft tall building at Dematagoda succumbed to her injuries, the Coroners Court was told on Friday. The deceased Pushpi Puimali Haturusinghe, a resident of Horana, was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital after falling off the building on Thursday (05). She was treated at the ICU but succumbed to her injuries the following day.

J.A. Amaratunga, an employee who witnessed the incident giving evidence before City Coroner Ashroff Rumi, said he saw Ms. Haturusinghe seated on the third floor of the building. He said she leaned back and lost her balance and fell.

JMO Colombo hospital Ms. K. K. Jusar conducted the post mortem. The cause of death was recorded as excessive bleeding from the head, caused by a fall.
