Transcend portable video recorder to launch locally in Jan 2014
View(s):Sri Lankans can expect Transcend motion cameras, also known as video recorders, to be launched locally in January 2014, according to Shafraz Hamzadeen, Group Managing Director / Chief Executive of EZY Holdings, which owns eSys Technologies, a leading locl computer hardware distributor. Further, he noted that this product is all set to revolutionise the local surveillance and home security industry due to the product’s portability and ease of installation.

Speaking to the media on the occasion of his company being inducted into the Transcend Platinum Club, in addition to commemorating the company’s five years as Transcend’s Exclusive Distributor for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Mr. Hamzadeen also noted that Transcend had grown significantly in the local market over the last five years, with this company’s computer memory products now being present in

approximately half of all local desktop computers.
Mr. Hamzadeen also added that the fastest moving products from Transcend here were memory and thumb drives (USBs). He also revealed that, SD cards, which eSys had just started bringing down a year ago, were already selling close to 4,000 units a month, and he expected to increase this number to 10,000 in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Gordon Wu, Transcend’s Head of Sales for South Asia, indicated that Sri Lanka was one of the fastest growing markets for the company’s product in Asia. Commenting further, he added that because of eSys the company’s products were now in every corner of Sri Lanka. He also signalled that, over the coming months, the main focus for Transcend locally was increasing its sales even more.
