Anchor Newdale, which went through some tough times in the first half of 2013 with the contamination scare over its imported milk, is undertaking a powerful public relations exercise by opening its doors to consumers and the general public in Sri Lanka as it launches the Anchor Newdale “Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa” from December 1.

The Anchor Newdale “Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa” is an educational tour on Anchor Newdale dairy processes. The tour will give the public an opportunity to witness first-hand and learn about the journey from grass to glass; beginning with the 4000 farmers who provide milk for Anchor Newdale products, to the nutritional value and production of Anchor Newdale products such as set and stirred yoghurt, flavoured milk, white milk and curd. The public will further witness the stringent quality control measures in place at the Anchor Newdale state of the art manufacturing plant in Biyagama, the company said in a statement.

Within the first two days of invitations, Anchor Newdale recorded over 2000 registrations for its Kiri Chaarikawa, set over a period of two weekends.

Roshan de Silva, Director of Marketing at Fonterra Brands Lanka said, “The Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ is a guided tour that will allow our consumers and all Sri Lankans to witness first-hand how our products are made, where they come from and the quality processes in place”.

The company requested the public to register for the programme only through the given Anchor Hotline on +9411-2468468. Callers must provide their name, identity card number, the number of participants, and the district / area they are from. Admissions are based on registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis.
