The Sri Lankan Hub of the Commonwealth Environmental Investment Platform [CEIP] was launched recently in Colombo during the Commonwealth leaders’ summit.

The Sri Lanka hub will also cover the Maldives, and is operated by Motha Capital Investments [MCI], part of the GE Group. The MCI team leading this hub are Roshan Motha head of Motha Capital Investments (Pvt) Ltd, Rohantha Athukorala, Head of National Potfolio Development of the United Nations office for Project Services (UNOPs), and Tanya Goonewardene, Attorney-at-law.

The focus of the hub is to link businesses, investors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders not only in their national markets but also across Commonwealth member nations, and indeed other countries who wish to engage with the Commonwealth for trade and investment, according to a statement to the media issued by the Sri Lankan hub.

CEIP is an alliance between the Royal Commonwealth Society and the Forbury Investment Network, associated with the UK law firm Clarkslegal and is managed in London by Forbury.

It has affiliated hubs in other countries, connecting with London and each other to share trade and investment opportunities in the environmental goods and services sector for the benefit of the Commonwealth and the planet.

“Investors looking to derive return on investment through green initiatives can become members by registering with MCI, which will then make them privy to proposals of green initiatives,” it said.
