Huawei No 3 in global smartphone market in Q3
View(s):Huawei Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, the local office of the leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei, has said that the global company has risen to the number 3 position in the global smartphone market. Huwei Smartphones gained a 5.1 per cent share, as it grew shipments 67 per cent annually to 12.7 million units in Q3 according to new reports.
Researchers attributed the rise to strong sales of its higher-end Ascend P6 and the mainstream G610, particularly in China.
According to Yang Shu – President and Chief Executive Officer, South-East Asia Region, Huawei Technologies, Huawei experienced 30 per cent year-over- year growth in the region, including Sri Lanka which is a significant achievement.
