Big Apple – where the music never sleeps

The Elizabeth Moir School presents the Big Apple from November 1 – 2, 2013 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre. The production comes together under the guidance of veteran director and teacher, Aida Mansoor. Organisers say the production will be the school’s most ambitious and challenging yet. To pull this off, the audition process has been more ruthless, the training harder, and the brainstorming more inspiring say organisers.

The music director, Sureka Amerasinghe, by coincidence has just returned from New York and adds authenticity to the storyline; a young girl (Katy Renker) arriving in the Big Apple to pursue her dreams. The vibrancy of the city that never sleeps forms a consistent thread through the production, which will be enhanced with LED screens and special effects.

Talentented dancers Francesca Muddanayake and Amar Riyaz have challenged the cast with the creativity of their choreography, while Loushanie Ranatunge leads the choir through the production.

Tickets for ‘Big Apple- Where the music never sleeps’ are available at Elizabeth Moir Senior School, 4/20, Thalakotuwa Gardens, Colombo 5.
