National Exporters Association (NEA) the forerunner of the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) was established in late 1986 by a small band of dedicated exporters. The NCE was inaugurated with the intention of creating a forum for the exporter fraternity, who previously had no organisation to represent them. Over the years, NCE has positioned themselves as the premier entity which stands on behalf of the local exporter community by successfully lobbying and influencing the Government to formulate many policy decisions that assist exporter fraternity.

Year on year, NCE organizes the Annual Exporter Awards Ceremony; premier event in the calendar of the exporter community which is specially designed to recognize & reward ‘Outstanding Exporters’ of our country. This event in addition to rewarding achievements of our exporters in the international market place encourages and motivates them to reach greater heights, and enhance their contribution to the economy of Sri Lanka. This year’s award ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 20th of September 2013, at Colombo Hilton, on a grand scale.

Continuing its contribution towards the development of exporter fraternity AAI, partners the NCE Exporter Awards Ceremony as Sponsor of the “Service Provider to Exporters” category. Being the Professional in the insurance industry, AAI has once again taken the initiative to join hands with the NCE in their efforts of recognizing the Sri Lankan exporters who trail blaze to take the “Made in Sri Lanka” brand to global excellence. The sponsorship package was handed over to the officials of NCE by AAI at the press conference held on the 28th of September 2013 at Colombo Hilton.
