The event was held for the ninth year in succession with Director of the National Council for Economic Development (NCED), Ministry of Finance and Planning, Mallika B. Samaraweera as chief guest.

Many of the dramas staged had a lesson for the audience. The Batticaloa Gateway Centre presented their drama, ‘The Promise’ and the team from Ratnapura performed ‘Fearless John’.

The other dramas staged were, ‘The Stone Soup’ performed both by the Ampara-Mangalagama branch and the Trincomalee group, ‘Teamwork’ by the Vavuniya branch, ‘Peter and the Wolf’ by the Galle branch, ‘Parliamentary Debate’ by the Colombo branch, ‘The Happy Prince’ by the Bandarawela branch, ‘Fearless John’ by the Panadura branch and ‘The Promise’ by Nellaidy branch.
