Dehiwela Subscribers of the Ceylon Electricity Board in the Dehiwela area have been offered a range of services including drive-in (while the subscriber is in his vehicle) electricity bill payments and getting new electricity connections at the doorstep of a subscriber on the same day of submitting the application.

Such information to subscribers in this area has been released through leaflets by the office of the Deputy General Manager, Western Province (South I). These leaflets were also sent to the Business Times (BT) in response to a news item published on its 11 August issue based on a complaint by an SME entrepreneur from Dehiwela that there are constant power failures and that there is lackadaisical response to public inquiries by some CEB officials.

According to the CEB, it maintains a 24 hour hotline: 0114418418 to ensure prompt action on complaints in the area such as supply disruptions, bill payment inquiries, account balance examination and any other matter pertaining to electricity supply. These complaints and inquiries can also be made through CEB email call centrewps@ceb.lk
